Nursery Manager – Maternity Cover Location: Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 Salary: Up to £35,000pa / £18.19ph (depending on experience) Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday (shift pattern below) Contract: Fixed-term until September 2027, with potential to become permanent Start: December 2026/January 2027 We are looking for a passionate Nursery Manager to join our small team at a warm and welcoming nursery in Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 on a maternity cover basis. The nursery provides a nurturing, home-from-home environment for babies and toddlers, with a strong focus on creating a safe, caring and stimulating space where children can feel secure, develop their independence and thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Early Years professional who is passionate about leading a team and maintaining the high standards of care and support provided to children and their families. We are looking for an experienced, confident and approachable Manager who can provide strong and consistent leadership throughout the maternity-cover period. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early-years professional to take on a Nursery Manager role within an established setting. There is also the potential for the successful candidate to continue working within the nursery after September 2027, which can be discussed nearer the time. Working Hours: Monday: 7:45am–1:00pm Tuesday–Thursday: 7:45am–5:30pm Friday: 7:45am–2:00pm Benefits: Supportive team Street parking & public transport links Half-day finishes Training and development opportunities Staff pension Key Responsibilities: Lead, support and supervise the nursery team Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and high standards of care Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and nursery policies Manage staffing, rotas, holidays and ratios About You: Level 3 or above in Early Years/Childcare Previous Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager experience Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and child protection Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills Right to work in the UK Interested?
